He's in my boat
A storm was brewing in my life. Seemingly hopeless situations made waves too high to see past. I shut my eyes to rest and in my mind, Jesus and I were in a boat. The storm still raged around us and I was frantic for Him to intervene. But He just looked at me. His head was cocked, His eyes crinkled in laughter, and shining with love. I wanted him to fix this NOW, not laugh at me! His laughter carried the amusement I have felt when my kids were scared of the harmless. I realized He wanted me to know that in His presence, everything is under control. Jesus is in my boat. He will always be in my boat. On the other side of the waves, there is sunny peaceful weather. God is faithful
I let fear spin a tight web around my heart as I struggled with sending Sam to camp. That web of deception kept me from hearing the Holy Spirit's voice. The prayers and wise counsel of friends and family finally got me through and allowed me to let go of my son for 13 days! Praise the Lord for allowing me to send Sam to Springhill, a Christian camp that included him, a challenged teen, in every activity!!!
God is so very merciful, kind, and worthy of any praise I can give Him. My tiny mind cannot even produce words to tell Him how wonderful He is! Sam had an absolutely fantastic experience at camp. His mentor, Scott, was patient and appropriately firm. Scott loved it that people in Sam's life were praying for him too! Camp staff personalized a work plan which allowed Sam to be with horses, one of his passions. Scott got a 2 hour break from working with Sam each day, and other counselors asked if they could fill in because they wanted to spend time with my son!
I am so grateful to those who sent Sam cards and letters! He saved every one of them! I cried tears of joy and thankfulness as I read them today. I pray God's favor and blessings on the precious ones who sent them and I love all of you!!
Best of all, Sam shared with me that while at camp, he rededicated his life to Jesus! I just want to say that with God all things are possible. There is always HOPE because He is our hope and a bright future awaits those who are His.
